The Wall Street Journal’s Women in the Economy Task Force Meeting
Lucy will be speaking at The Wall Street Journal’s Women in the Economy Task Force Meeting.
A CONFERENCE FOCUSED ON ACTION
In early April, the editors of The Wall Street Journal brought together more than 150 CEOs, policy makers, industry leaders and subject-matter experts – women and men – for a unique, highly interactive working session on the powerful impact of women in the economy.
The mission of this executive task force is to address key issues that affect not only women and their potential, but also companies and their ability to harness the opportunities offered by this vital segment of the workforce.
Using a fresh, data-driven approach, the task force’s deliberations sprung from original research commissioned by the Journal and conducted by McKinsey & Company for release at the conference. Through provocative interviews with the Journal’s editors, luminaries from many fields shared insights to inform the participants’ work. The core insights are available in the special report on WSJ.com at http://wsj.com/wie.
The 2012 program for Women in the Economy is currently in development. Already confirmed to participate are Madeleine Albright, the first woman to become U.S. Secretary of State; Venus Williams, tennis champion and founding ambassador for the WTA-UNESCO Gender Equality Program; Jane Shaw, Chairman of the Board for Intel; Barbara Kux, Member, Managing Board of Directors for Siemens; Dee Dee Myers, former White House press secretary under President Bill Clinton, and the first woman to serve in the post; and many more.
